first edition. A memoir of the great abolitionist Granville Sharp. The portrait frontispiece engraved by Patrick Reason was the first portrait by the young engraver. Reason (1816-1898) created the famous logo of the kneeling slave-woman with the motto, "Am I not a Sister and a Woman," for the American Anti-Slavery Society.
